In the chaotic city of Dhaka, where thousands of rickshaw drivers fill the busy streets, we have been subsidising a school for children from the local slums of Dhanmond for seven years. In that time the number of students there has grown from 30 to 55 children. Romina Dewan, who started the school, always makes us feel welcome and we are privileged to visit the children’s homes. The children are making incredible progress some are now able to do college courses.
